Fine Motor:
- Coin Exercise Routine: Place 10 coins on a table horizontally in front of your child all heads up (if your child can not yet figure out heads and tails, put a small sticker or use a sharpie to color the “tail” side to help them differentiate). Show your child how to turn the coin over to tail side making sure they use thumb and index finger. Have them turn the coins over one at a time moving from left to right using only their right hand. Do it again with their left hand. Next ask them to do it again using their right and left hands at the same time. Start at each end and meet in the middle. Do this at least 3 times. Finally have them pick up at least five of the coins in only one hand, picking up one at a time. Then have them put them in the piggy bank one a time by moving the coin from their palm to their finger tips using their thumb.
- Animal Walks: Have your child perform different animal walks. Examples include bear, frog, dog, crab, kangaroo, cat, bunny, elephant, and snake.
- Continue practicing at typing.com or Typing Agent.
- Continue to practice shoe tying, buttoning, and/or zipping.
- Continue to perform the Chore of the Day/Week.
- Continue to identify your zone and use strategies to adjust as needed.
