Fine Motor
- Finger Print Flowers: (Materials needed - paper, crayons, and paint) On a piece of paper draw small circles with "tall line downs" coming from the bottom.
- Have your child trace the circles and the “tall line downs” then color in each of the circles. On a tray, put 5 different colors of finger paint. Ask your child to use one finger to make fingerprints around each circle to make the petals. Use a different finger for each flower i.e. for the first flower use your pinkie to make finger print dots around the circle to make the petals.
Handwriting:
- Letter Boxes: Write a list of spring words on one side of the paper. On the other side draw boxes that correspond to the size of the letter - have your child find which set of boxes match the word and then fill it in. For the words flower and play you would draw these boxes:
- Challenge: Give them a list of words and have them draw the corresponding boxes for each word.
Sensorimotor:
- Crab Walk Pick Up: Scatter different small objects around your floor like small figurines or cotton balls. Ask your child to crab walk around the room to pick them up and either bring them back to a certain spot or put into a bucket.
